THREE ASSAULTED.
FORMER SUITOR'B SPLIEN. SKIN GRADER FIXED. AUCKLAND, Saturday. Charges or assaulting John James Fleet. Ruby Murray and olive Miller were preferred against Arthur “‘illiam \Vorster. a skin grader. in the Auckland Police Court yesterday. .\irs Ruby Murray said that she kept an apnriment house at which Mrs Miller stayed. Mrs Miller at one time kept company \Vllh accused. but was now friendly with a man named Fleet. \Vhen accused made his second visit to the house on the night of May ‘2B she told him to wait at the door. but he pushed past her and assaulted her. He struck her three times. and black—ened her eyes and face. with the resuit that she had to so to the Auckland Hospital. Mrs Miller stated that she was divorced and formerly kept company wiih accused. He struck her on the head as she was attempllns to pick up Mrs .\iurray. Accused in evidence said that when he saw the man there he lost his Lead. He did not remember striking the women. A ~
Accused was fined £5. in default Li days‘ Imprisonment. for assaulting Mrs Murray. and £2. or seven days‘ huprlsonment. on each of the other two charges.
