DEATH OF FILM STAR.

The authorities are busily engaged in an effort to unravel several mysterious aspects of the death of Miss Thelma Todd, the film star, whose body was found In her motor-car on Monday, near the cafe in which she had an interest, on a coastal road north •of Santa Monica. Alcohol and an alleged weak heart having been ruled out as causes of her death, present theories favour carbon monoxide poisoning. Detectives are endeavouring lo find a “foreign-looking man’’ with whom it is reported Miss Todd was seen riding in Hollywood 16 hours after the time fixed by physicians as that at which she died. This information was supplied by Mrs Roland West, the estrangled wife of Miss Todd’s partner in the cafe business.
