Price of Silver.— Silver was quoted hi London yesterday at 22 3-16 d an oz. spot and 23 15-lGd forward, compared with 23d and 24 13-16 d the previous day.

Lord Nuffleld's Benefactions. —Lord Nuffield has given £125,000 to establish an organisation to deal with the early discovery of curative treatment for children who are threatened with being crippled. Lord Nuffleld’s benefactions now total nearly £1,000,000.

Locked In Safe. —The unwelcome prospect of spending a night in an office safe was faced by a clerk in a large Hamilton office yesterday.
