Lamason and Rainbird livened the batting, the latter sending Langridge to the boundary twice in succession. The hundred went up in 105 minutes, tne partnership adding fifty runs in thirty minutes of confident and attractive batting. Wickets fell more cheaply when the partnership was broken and the innings closed with 164 runs up. Sims howled magnificently throughout the innings to gain an average of eight wickets fop 53 runs.
