THREE “DRUNKS” CHARGEDMAN ASKS FOR GAOL. Premature and intemperate celebration of tho restive season was probably responsible for the prosecution of three “drunks” in the Magistrate’s Court, Hamilton, this morning. “This man walked into the polieo slation yesterday and asked to be locked up,” said Senior-Sergeant Lambert referring lo William Alfred Cyril Rose, who was charged with helpless drunkenness. "Ho has been drinking methylated spirits and 1 suggest that he he remanded to allow him lo gel the effects of it out of ills system.” ' The accused was remanded, until Monday. Tni llarimalc, a second statutory offender fur drunkenness, was convicted and lined ill. Anolher man, a first offender, was convicled and discharged.
