Play in a Church. The Morality play, " Eagerheartis to be given in 'Christ Church, Wanganui, on Monday night. Plays by School Pupils. “ Mary, Mary, Quite Contrary," by St. John Irvine, was presented by the pupils of the Girls’ College at Wanganui this week. The pupils of the Wanganui Technical College staged three one-act plays—” The Boy Comes Home,” “The Prince who was a Piper,” and an act of “ Make Believe ’ —this week. The tragedy of “ Pyramus and Thisbe” was presented by the pupils of St. Aloyslus’ College, Sydney, last. week. They played a stage adaptation of the tale from the “ Metamorphoses” of Ovid in the original Latin. The Gilbert, and Sullivan opera, “The Gondoliers,” was staged by the pupils of Nga Tawa School, Marlon, last week. Shakespeare Out of DoorsParents’ day at Rangi-ruru was unique in that a play was performed out of doors for the first time, says a Christchurch paper. The choice of “ A Midsummer Night’s Dream ” was a particularly happy one, the play being excellently suited to a setting such as that provided by the beautiful shaded lawns of the school. It was therefore, unfortunate that the tim6 for the production of the play, from two to three o’clock, should have coincided with the only wet hour of the day.

The spectators, however, held their ground despite the rain, and, shielded by umbrellas, saw the play through. The young actresses played their parts well in face of adverse circumstances.
