In the first six months of this year British factories turned out 217,532 motor-cars, as compared with 256,866 in the previous twelve months. As the Swiss Federal railways are losing £7 a minute, a referendum is to be held on the question of transferring them back to private control. Statistics give the average height of women of England. as sft. 6in., with an expectation of life of 71 years in the South and 68 in the North.
