LABOUR’S INTENTIONS. PURCHASE OF PRIVATE HOLDING. Referring to the Government’s monetary proposals in an interview last evening, :tlie Prime Minister, the Hon. M. J. Savage said that a money system based on production was aimed at, and there was nothing in the wide world Lo stop it. However, the Government would not saddle itself or the people with any unnecessary liability. For its purpose, control of credit was needed. Labour had always contended that the Reserve Bank should he Stateowned, and it was now fairly definite that the Government would buy out the private shareholding in the bank.
