AWAMARINO.

A POPULAR TEACHER. Mr C. A. Moran, who has been In charge of the Awamarino School for • the past three years, was recently iarewelted ai Marokopa. There was a large gathering of Trlends and members or the football and cricket clubs. The evening took the form of a social and dance. At supper time Mr c. A. Reeve presented Mr Morton with a handsome travelling rug on behalf or the many friends of the district. He said Mr Morton would bo greatly missed, not only for himself, but for his many activities In the district In football, In cricket and tennis. He had taken a great Interest In the children and had been Instrumental in starting the Girls’ and Boys’ Agricultural Clubs and the local Primary Schools Sports Association. On behair of tho residents he wished Mr Morton every success In the future. Mr Mlln also spoke of Mr Morton s willingness to lend a hand at whatever was being done. Mr Morton, on rising to speak, was greeted with musical honours. He thanked the speakers Tor their good wishes and the beautiful rug. The evening ended with the singing of "Aula Lang Syne.” . , . At the conclusion of Mr Morton’s last day at school May Thrush, on behair of the Awamarino school children, presented Mr Morton with a set of hair brushes and an eversharp pencil.
