THE WAIPA CLUB. ANNUAL MEETING HELD. I SANDY DIN WINS HURDLES. SCOTLAND LEADS CUP FIELD. (Times Special Reporter.) TE AWAMUTU, Saturday. Before a good attendance of 'the public the annual meeting of the Waipa, Racing Club was held to-day. The weather was fine, but overcast, and the track was in good order. Winner trained by T. Morriss, Cambridge. . Killadar, who had been working wen prior to the meeting was a strong favourite on the win machine, and third Taney for a place. Sandy Dix, who was second in order or selection, went a line race throughout, and over the deciding stages gave nothing else a chance. Sweet Lap, the place favourite, was going well until she fell half-a-mile from home. Sweet Lap was early in the lead and was showing out, when they had settled down from L’Allegro, Mangu King, Killadar, Prince of Orange, Last Lap and Folly’s Choice. Mangu King had run to the front racing past the stands, with L’Allegro handy, and Killadar, Sweet Lap, Last Lap, Prince of Orange, Last Lap and Folly’s Choice. Going out to the back on the flat, Prince of Orange and Mangu King fell and at the next fence Killadar made a faulty jump and brought down L’Allegro. Sandy Dix led across the top from Killadar, who baulked at the fence by the half-mile post, Folly’s Choice, Silver Wattle, Last Lap and Mio Lume. Sweet Lap fell at this fence and Sandy Dix led into the straight from Folly’s Choice, Killadar, Last Lap and Mlo Lume. In the run home nothing had a chance with Sandy Dix, who went on to win comfortably by six lengths from Killadar, who beat Folly’s Choice by a neck. Tonnerre was a firm favourite on the win machine and fully justitled the confidence of bis supporters, jumping to the Tront in the latter stages, and- staying on solidly in the straight to win in decisive fashion. The consistent Little Artist ran a good race, as also did Winlona, both of whom were well supported on the place machine. ' Application disappointed, fading away in the straight arter having every chance. Laudatory was smartest to begin, and led over the early part from Gay Sister, Little Artist, Tonnerre, Winlona and Sir Tommy. By the time the hack was reached Tonnerre had hit the front and was followed here by Little Artist, Winlona, Application, Sir Tommy, Trouvaille, Tassau and Laudatory. Racing across the top Winlona had run up behind Tonnerre, and this pair was followed at this stage by Little Artist, Application and Tassau. Tonnerre was clear as they levelled up Tor liome and went on to win easily by three lengths from Little Artist who stayed on well, with Winlona a head away. Trouvaille was fourth and then came Laudatory, Sir Tommy, Pound Sterling, Application, Gay Sister, Survoy and Swift Spear. Time, 1.1-1 2-5.

Dark Shadow, who was second fancy straight-out and nrst in request on the place machine, gave a good exhibition coming through to win nicely in the straight. Karolila bad every chance, but arter moving up on the rails, failed to go on with it. C.lenation was the first to become prominent, and when they were fairly on their way, was leading Sweet Rose, Little Leslie, Karohla and Diacquedoon. Along the back Glenatlon and Sweet Rose were still in charge of affairs, with Torch handy and Karohla and Diacquedoon at the head of the others. Torch had shot to the front across Hie top, where Karohla had also made a forward move, to be In front of Dark Shadow, Glenatlon. Sweet Rose. Diacquedoon and Worthy King. In the straight Keith Lu went on to win narrowly by a head rrom Tin Lap who beat Gloucester by a similar margin.
