Indications are for generally fair weather to-day; with seasonable temperatures; northerly winds prevailing, unsettled conditions following. The Rainfall. Rainfall for 24 hours ended 9 o’clock this morning, .OOin. Rainfall for previous 24 hours, .OOin. Total rainfall for December to date, .OOin. Average rainfall for December, 3.38 in. Rainfall for year to date, 49.79 in. Yearly average. 46.32 in. SOUTH AUCKLAND AREA. ( By Govt. Meteorologist.) The special forecast by the Government Meteorologist covering the WaikatoThames Valley is as follows; Forecast: Moderate to fresh northerly winds. Weather mainly fair to cloudy and warm, but some isolated showers in the ranges. Seas moderate. General Inference: A slight depression is now crossing the Dominion, but the controlling influence is a deep tropical cyclone centred over the New Hebrides, which favours settled weather in New Zealand.
