GAY DEFENCE
Gay Defence showed a fine turn of speed to win the Sylvia Park Handicap. Despite the fact that he drew the outside but one ho was one of the leaders at the end of three furlongs and led Into the straight to go on for a convincing victory. The Gay Shield four-year-old was produoed In good order and the patient policy pursued with him Is evidently having good effect. To date he has started On four occasions for two wins, a second and a third. He should win further before long.
