The Minister of the Interior has returned from a tour of the Northern Territory. He said he had been favourably impressed with the pastoral resources of the territory, but could see no prbspect of increasing the development of the pastoral industry while world prices for beef remained at ihe present. low level. It would not be possible, under present conditions, to proceed with the Commonwealth Government’s plans for the development of the territory by chartered companies.
