FIRE IN CHURCH
SANCTUARY GUTTED. BLAZE AT WELLINGTON. (Ey Telogriinh. \«sorlatton.)' WELLINGTON, Monday. A fire which broke out about 9.30 last night almost completely gutted the interior of St. Vincent de Paul Roman Catholic Church at Northland. Although it is not possible to assess the full amount of damage it is considered the loss will be heavy. The outbreak, which is believed to have started in the sacristy behind the altar, quickly spread into the nave oi the church. All the furniture In the sanctuary, including the altar, was reduced to cinders, and sacred pictures on tha wall were destroyed.
