STEERING GEAR FAILS.
CAR OVER BANK. TWO PASSENGERS INJURED. ■Father and son were injured when a car, driven by Mr R. F. Hickling, a butcher of Ngaruawahia, careered over a bank on the Huntly-Glen Afton Road on Saturday afternoon. Two of the passengers, Mr Thomas Henry Baker, aged 60, a miner of Huntly, and his son, Mr John Anthony Baker, aged 23, also of Huntly, received minor injuries which necessitated their admission to the Waikato Hospital. The cause of the accident is believed to have been due to a failure In the steering gear. The condition of neither of the victims was reported serious this morning by the hospital authorities.
