WOMEN’S DIVISION.

NGAHINAPOURI BRANCH. Tho monthly meeting of the Women's Division was held in the Ngahinapouri Hall on Thursday. Airs Ityburn presiding over a good attendance of members. During the afternoon Mrs Mclntosh gave an interesting address, in which she touched on many topics of interest. She was accorded a hearty vote of thanks. An entertaining competition was won by Airs Mills. Tho roll call was “A good band emollient.” The month’s competition, “A knitting bag.” was won by AR's AlcWhannell. The flower competition resulted in equal points lo Airs McWhanncll and Airs ATcGregor. Afternoon tea brought a sociable afternoon to a close. The hostesses wore Mcstlamcs S. and AV. Reid.

TATUANUI BRANCH. Tho monthly meeting of the Tatuanui branch of the Women’s Division of Hie Farmers’ Union was held in the Taliianui Rail, Mrs P. Rushlon presiding over an attendance, of sixty members. Mrs F. J. Shirley reported on the recent Dominion Gonferenee at which siio had represented Piako. The. roll call was. “A place I would tike to visit.” A competition for the. best, marmalade was won by Airs G. limes, with Mrs E. Ale Alpine •second and Mesdames G. Hart and AV. Northed I third. Two interesting debates were held, the negative side winning in both eases. “Rritish and Foreign Goods" was dealt with by Mesdames AV. Xorthcolf, A. J. Luxton and L. Woodlev (affirmative), and I\. Elliott, L. AteAlpine and G. Burnett (negative); •‘The Merits of the Hire Purchase System,” by Mesdames C. E. Jenkins, Gernhoefer and F. J. Shirley (affirmative), and J. Kclk. AL Ilenrikson and J. AA’ilton (negative). Three members were, appointed to debate with the To Aroha-Wnihou braneli next month. Afternoon tea was served, the hostesses being Afesdames A. Hole, •f. A. Colson, J, Xola and E. Welch.
