ASSOCIATION FOOTBALL

SOUTH AUCKLAND GAMES.

WIN FOR HUNTLY BTARR.

PUKEMIRO’S NON-APPEARANCE.

The South Auckland Football Association's senior championship competition was advanced a further stage on Saturday, when two further games were carded. There were no flxtuies in this grade played at Seddon. Park, both of the Hamilton senior teams being away from home. Except 101 a fairly strong breeze cond lions were practically ideal for football and a good game was seen at Huntly. The only fixture at Seddon Park was an intermediate game in which Claudelands Rovers A defeated Hamilton Wanderers by two goals to one.

PLAY AT HUNTLY.

CIAUDELANDS RIOVERS DEFEATED.

Claudelands Rovers seniors met with defeat when they encountered the Starr team on the Huntly ground. Although both sides had a good share of the attack the home team gained the decision by six goals to nil. The visitors had kept the score down to 2—o at half-time, but Huntly went ahead in the second spell to add another four goals to their tally. Rovers were not playing at full strength, having fielded three intermediate players, and they missed several good chances by not finishing their attacking movements off strongly. ■Collins sent a few opportunities astray by shooting too high. Haines, one of the intermediates, can usually be relied upon for a good performance, and he fulfilled expectations on Saturday.

Webster, in goal for Rovers, did not play up to his usual standard and missed shots that would never have beaten him had he been on form.

FIXTURE AT PUKEMIRO. TEAM FAILS TO APPEAR. Hamilton Wanderers were carded to meet Pukemiro on the latter club’s ground on Saturday, but when the visiting team arrived their opponents failed to put in an appearance. The position will be considered by the South Auckland Football Association at its meeting on Thursday night.
