Counsel for accused, Mr Gordon, said there had been provision that he, as accused’s counsel, should accompany accused to hospital every time accused visited his wife. He had visited his wife four or five times in the last fortnight. Counsel asked that the provision for his accompanying accused, be now withdrawn. He said the other parly had been forbidden to see accused’s wife, both by the wife and by the hospital authorities. Accused and his wife were on perfectly good terms.
