The State Cabinet has approved of administrative changes in the functions of the State Government departments, necessitating a re-arrange-ment of portfolios. The Government Whip, Mr J. B. Shand, has been promoted to assistant Minister without portfolio. Mr E. S. Spooner takes the title of Minister of Works and Local Government.
Mr 11. M. Hawkins will be Minister of Social Services. The changes have been made to promote economy, increase efficiency, and avoid overlapping and duplication.
