AFTER-HOUR TRADING.
WELLINGTON HOTELS. REPORT OF “INVESTIGATOR.” (By Telegrapb.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Wednesday. At a meeting of the Wellington area executive of the New Zealand Alliance, the matter of “deliberate and continuous breaking of the Jaw by'aftcrhours trading in hotels ” was discussed, reports relating to 24 different hotels being under consideration. It was resolved that the police bo furnished with full details and examples given. A record was supplied of Ihe observations of an “investigator and companion" in 22 visits to 12 hotels, at limes ranging between 7 a.m. and 9 a.m.. and 6.20 pan. and 2.25 a.m. on week days, and between 7.4 0 a.m. and 9.50 a.in. on Sundays, -customers being reported present on every occasion.
Tho executive recorded its considered opinion: “That this after-hours trading is not limited to the 24 hotels upon which a report has been made.”
