WOMEN’S INSTITUTE.
AT RAGLAN. The monthly meeting of the Raglan Women’s Institute was held in the supper room of the Town Hall on August 10, there being a good attendance of members. A vote of sympathy with Mrs Hird in the loss of Mr Hird’s father Avas parsed, all members standing in silence for two minutes. After the remits for the next Waikato conference Avere discussed, Mrs Orr was elected to fill the "vacancy on the committee. A pianoforte solo played by Miss L. Carpenter was greatly appreciated, and Mrs J. B. Jackson gave a very interesting address on her visit to the Dominion conference at Auckland. The competition, a \’aso of dowers, was Avon by Mrs Gilmour, with Miss A. Fuller second and Miss A. Gilmour third. The hostesses, Mesdames Orr, Earl, F. Bernard and Innes-Jones, served afternoon lea.
