PHYSICAL CULTURE CLASSES. LECTURES AND EXERCISES. (Official Wiiolosa.) RUGBY, Aug. 18. Numbers of unemployed men drawn from specially depressed areas of north-east and north-west England, the midland# of Scotland and South Wales have been undergoing a four months’ course of training in souiii London ns instructors in physical culture under the experimental scheme conducted with the approval and financial assistance of Ministry of Labour. 11 is intended to employ men when they are proficient as leaders at the junior instructional centres and elsewhere, In addition to walking six miles each day between the hostel and the gymnasium, the mem exercise actively for live hours in three sessions. Besides the ordinary physical training, Lhe course includes boxing, jiu-jitsu and gymnasium games. Twice weekly the men attend lectures on anatomy, hygiene, physiology and elementary psychology. Their ages range from 19 lo 31 and they include unemployed miners, dockyard labourcrcs, mechanics, draughtsmen, etc.
