Their Excellencies the GovernorGeneral and Lady Galway, who have been attending the Grand National Meeting in Christchurch, returned to Wellington on Sunday morning, and will remain in residence at Government House until after the session of Parliament.

Sir Harold Beauchamp will be returning to Wellington by the Remuera, leaving London for Auckland and Wellington on Thursday.

Dr. Wilton Henley, son of Mr W. E. Henley, of Napier, and a former Rhodes scholar, has been appointed house physician to the medical unit at St. Mary’s Hospital, Paddington, London. He obtained his degree in medicine in England last month.

Dr. A. H. Pearce, chief medical officer to the Government of Fiji, arrived at Auckland by the Niagara yesterday on his way to attend the International Pacific Health conference in Sydney, and later the British Medical Association’s' conference in Melbourne.

Mr D. B. Costello, of Suva, who has been associated with the development of the Tavua goldfield since it discovery three years ago, arrived at Auckland yesterday by the Niagara. He will sail on Saturday by the'Mariposa on his return to Fiji.

Mr Arthur Gibbs, formerly chief telegraph engineer, who is leaving Wellington by the Maunganui shortly on an extended visit to the East, Great Britain and Europe, will take the opportunity while abroad to investigate recent developments in radio and other electrical activities.

Dr. Medley Bellringer, son of Mr C. E. Bellringer, New Plymouth, has received an appointment to the medical corps of the Royal Air Force, according to cabled advico received privately. The appointment carries with it a commission and Is for five years. Twelve months will be spent in England and four years with Royal Air Force squadrons overseas.
