LINE AGAIN BLOCKED

MAIN TRUNK TRAFFIC.

FIRST EXPRESS DIVERTED.

FURTHER KING COUNTRY SLIP

A.s the result of a further substantial slip near Hlhltahi, Taumarunul, traffic on the Main Trunk line was again dislocated early this afternoon. The line Is impassable for some distance and, in addition to the disorganisation of goods services, It will be necessary, for the Railways Department to divert the first express for Wellington this afternoon to the Stratford line.

Only meagre details are available of the extent of the damage, but it is understood that a large gang of men has been applied to removing the subsidence and it is hoped that the permanent way will be cleared sufficiently to enable the passage of the limited express later to-night. If, however, the line remains blocked it is probable that this train will also be required to travel over tlie Taranaki section.

The continued spell of wet weather has made tlie papa country in the vicinity of the slip exceptionally 'treacherous and small subsidences are common for many miles through the King Country. The line was blocked over the week-end, hut was cleared yesterday, the Auckland-bound expresses passing through Frankton Junction this morning on time.
