PRESIDENT’S ANNUAL REPORT. (Special to Times): CAMBRIDGE,; Tuesday. The annual report of the Waikato •Central Agricultural Association to be presented at the annual meeting on Friday next, .by the president, Mr J. S. Fisher, records another successful year. '• ■ ~/ ", .' “The show held in March was again a great success, and the entries in all sections were .thoroughly representative,” states the report. “ The various cattle classes were well filled with . high-class • well-bred., exhibits. Sheep were in smaller numbers than last year, but those penned for com-' petition made a well-balanced exhibition. It is sincerely hoped that breeders with good , show sheep will come forward and .support .the association in tpe coming yeans.' 'There are a number of breeders of show sheep in tlie district who did not exhibit at the last show. “ The horse, section was Quite a good one, there being some excellent young •animals among the exhibits. The draughts as well as hacks and; hunters were siiown in quite good numbers, and they rollected credit on their various owners. The juvenile classes still hold a strong place in our show, in fact this seot'.on is a show in Itself, the various classes being well tilled with keen girl and boy riders. Splendid- Calves. “ The Calf Club classes are something to be proud of, and this department of the show held the interest of a large section of the patrons of the annual fixture on the second day. The children from the Various district schools are to be congratulated on the splendid line of calves shown. “ The home industries section grows larger each year, and the staging room in the building provided, is taxed to its utmost. A new feature introduced was the Women’s Institute court competition, which proved ia splendid attraction. .Four branches competed and the shield donated by the association was won by Kaipaki. “ The sheep dog trial and the working dog classes were a source of continued interest to visitors to the show, and the kennel club staged its largest; bench of higl,-class dogs which were freely commented on by judges and the public. Receipts and Expenditure, 4 “ The receipts and expenditure account for the year reveals that the cash assets of the association have fallen from £125 11s 4d to £97 Bs. Unfortunately this is accounted for mainly by the fact that a considerable amount of the association’s income is outstanding." Thanks are expressed by the show committee to the very large numbers of workers who continued each year to give of their best - to make the annual fixture a success.
