SNOW AT CHATEAU.
HEAVY FALL EXPECTED. THE CHATEAU, Tuesday. Heavy rain to-day gave place to exceptionally heavy snow about three o'clock this afternoon, and there is a prospect of very bad weather. Tho «mow is mostly on the higher altitudes at present, there being two feet of new snow in the vicinity of the Salt Hut this afternoon. There has been no cessation of the snow-fall since three o'clock this afternoon- The barometer, at four o'clock, was at 29.40 in., and tho reading was unchanged this evening. On the lower levels, the snow is not deep, and the roads in the district are not affected. Unless, however, there is ;i very sudden change in the weather, a heavy fall is exucctcd.
