MUSIC FESTIVAL.

CAMBRIDGE PREPARATIONS. CAMBRIDGE, Tuesday. A meeting of the executive committee of the 'Cambridge Competitions Society was held in the secretary’s office yesterday afternoon, Mr F. R. Wooldridgo presiding. The secretary, Mr Edgar James, reported that he had been advised by several intending competitors that they had been unable to secure copies of the test-pieces. The, musical adjudicator, Mr W. Hutchens, of Christchurch, had 'been communicated with, and he had replied 'that music-dealers were carrying skeleton stocks In fear of an alteration in the exchange rates. This was very evident when the works of Edward Germann and 'Landon Ronald could not be obtained. Satisfactory arrangements were made to overcome the difficulty and Messrs Wooldridge, J. G. Catran and Edgar James were appointed a committee in case of emergency.
