THE AUCKLAND MARKBT. BANK SHARES IN DEMAND. (By Telegraph.—Special to Times.) AUCKLAND, Monday. Orders appeared plentiful on the Exchange this morning, and brokers lost little time in finalising business, with the result that an unusually big list of sales was recorded at the first callBank shares were in demand and Bank of New South Wales firmed further with a sale at £32 ss, after which the market rested between £32 2s 6d and £32 10s. Commercial Banks were steady between lOs fid and 17s, and Reserves bad buyers at £G fis with no sellers.
Amongst Farmers’ scrip North Auckland showed a sharp rise with a sale ■of the Li prof, at 10s, a rise of 3s fid over the last transaction and the highest recorded for a considerable period. Woolworlh’s (Sydney) shares were firm with quotations between £4 12s fid and £’i 1 is. Colonial Sugars had buyers at £44 5s with no sellers.
There was little change in Government slocks.
