MOTOR-CYCLIST STRUCK.
OAR WHICH “CUT CORNER.”
When Alfred Biullock through his counsel, Mr J. C. Taylor, pleaded guilty before Messrs R. T. Reid and F. 11. Clapham, J’s.P., in the Magistrate’s Court, Hamilton, this morning to a charge of “ cutting the corner ” the police withdrew another charge of negligent driving. Senior-Sergeant Lambert informed the Court that at 6.30 p.m. on June 10 defendant was driving north along Victoria Street. When turning to Ihc right into Rosstrevor Street lie cut the corner and struck a motor cyclist who received a broken leg and rib and head injuries. The trouble probably arose through I lie defendant driving with his parking lights instead of with his headlights.
Mr Taylor said his client had been driving for-. 18 years and it was his first breach. A line of JOs with costs was imposed-.
