AT TAUPIRI,
There was a large attendance of members at the monthly meeting of the Taupiri Women’s Institute, presided over by the president, Mrs L. E. Clarke. The remits for the Dominion Conference, to be held at Auckland, were discussed. Several 'Competitions were held, and the winners were:—Bowl of flowers, Miss J. Henry; supper cloth, Mrs V. J. Farrington; tray cloth, Mrs F. Underwood. The entertainment for 'the afternoon was provided by the junior members. The following items were given: Duet in costume, “Little Dutch Mill,” Misses A. Clarke and M. Walter; whistling solos, “Isle of Capri’’ and “Old Faithful," Miss J. Sowman, A sketch, “Saving Samuel," was presented by Misses M. Walter and A. Clarke, and community singing was led by the junior members. Tiie hostesses were Mesdames 11. Riddell, W. Bailey, R. E. Hunter, A. W. Buss, H. McGam'bridge, A. H. Shepherd, G. Powell, A. R. Blackburn.
