CAUGHT NAPPING.

A. McDonald was caught napping on Gold Ours In the Whakatu Hurdles at Hastings on. Saturday. Half-a-mlle to go Gold Cure, who was favourite on the win maohine, went out to a commanding lead, but over the last half furlong was allowed to take things easily and W. Pasooe, on Esteem, sizing up the position, brought his mount along with a great finishing run to beat Gold Cure by a head. McDonald was subsequently brought before the Judicial committee and fined £5 and suspended for the rest of the day for careless riding.
