WIN FOR MISS ROUND
United Press Assn. —Elec. Tel. Copyright. LONDON, June 15. The finals of the Kent tennis championships xvere played to-day. Results are: — Men’s Doubles. —Tuckey and AVilde defeated Perry and Austin, 4—G, G—2, 7—5. Women's Doubles. —Miss Andrus and ■' Madame Henrotin defeated Misses Stammers and James, G —3, 6—2. Women’s Singles.—Miss Round defeated Miss Stammers, 6—2, 6—o. In the final Miss Stammers failed to reproduce the faultless display which gave her victory over Mrs Wills-Moody. It was soon evident that many shots which against the American champion had been winners went just wide of the lines. Her proportion of errors steadily increased in the second set.
Miss Round, with the rhythm of her drix-ing restored, proved more mobile than -Mrs Wills-Moody and was less easily caught short in her returns.
