MONTHLY SOCIAL HELD. AN ENJOYABLE FUNCTION. The monthly social gathering of the South Auckland Caledonian Society was held In the Hamilton Y.M.C.A. on Saturday evening, and from every aspect was a most successful function. There was a large attendance' and an enjoyable evening was spent. The proceedings opened -with a concert programme, which included selections by the South Auckland Pipe Rand, under Pipe Major S. Clothier, songs by Misses Wilkie, M. Blyl.li, and ■Mr K. P. Cade, violin solos, Master C. 'Clinmpness; concertina, solos. Mr Emerson; elocution, Miss L. Bridges; musical saw solos, Mr S. Burgess; dance duo and solos, Misses M. Monloilli and H. Bollinger. Tim accompaniments were played by Mrs A. MeLaelilnn. An old-time dance followed Ihe concert. During the evening Chief E. Trcvena llinnked ilie members for Urn support accorded hint during tho past season.-
