The official survey of the ruined villages has not been completed, hut the present estimate of the dead there is between 12,000 and 15,000. In one village there were only nine survivors out of a population of 400. The Times states that the British Government will move a vole of £50,000 for the Quetta relief fund when the House of Commons reassembles. Gifts to the Lord Mayor’s fund Include one from the King of £SOO, from the Queen, £250, the Prince of Wales £125, the Duke and Duchess of York, and the Duke and Duchess of Kent, £SO each. The Government of India lias mado a grant of £75,000 to the relief fund.
