TE AWAMUTU DANCE.
SUCCESSFUL EVENING.
The first of a series of Catholic dances this year was held in the Parish Hall on Wednesday evening, and proved most successful. The hall was prettily'decorated with pungas, balloons and streamers. During the evening an exhibition of the tango, quickstep and fox-trot was given by Miss Molly Ballanlyne, of Hamilton, and Mr Bert Bradley, of Auckland, and was very much appreciated. The fox-trot compclition, judged by .Miss Ballanlyne and Mr Bradley, was won by Miss Bessie Gleason and Mr Garrctl, and the waltzing competition by Miss Lorraine Cruickshank and Mr C. 11. Lineban. Miss M. Paseoc and partner were successful in (lie Monle Carlo, and Miss N. Turnwnld and Mr C. Jowwey in the staluc waltzExcellent music was supplied by Pal, O’Rouke s Orchestra.
