SURPRISE PARTY.
MRS J. FOSTER HONOURED
LADIES’ GUILD FUNCTION. A very happy surprise party was taken to the homo of -Mrs J. Foster on Friday evening by members of the Church of Christ Ladies’ Guild on the occasion of her 'Bsth birthday. 'Flic evening was spent in games and items, and a reading “A Question of Ownership” was given by Mesdaincs Pollard, T. Jl. Pearson, Bull and A. L. Pearson, and much enjoyed. During the evening Mrs W. Hood, the oldest lady present, presented Mrs Foster with a bouquet of violets, and after supper Mrs Salisbury, on behalf of the Guild, made the presentation of a beautifully bound hymn book. 'Mrs Foster suitably replied. The rooms were charmingly decorated with pale pink rosebuds, -Mrs Foster wearing a frock of deep wine marocain. Among those present were:— Mesdaincs A. G. Sanford, J.
