FORM AT CLAUDELANDS. BINGEN CHIEF WINB WELL. MEADOW KING’S GOOD EFFORT. Stallion Arrives. The stallion, Silk Thread, _who was recently acquired by E. R. Smith arrived yesterday in splendid condition. A Useful Effort. Captain Bolt has been racing with a consistency in recent starts that suggests he will not long be an absentee from the winning lists. He was finishing on well at the end of Saturday’s Newslead Handicap. On the Improve. Tryment put up an improved performance in the Ruakura 'Handicap at Claudelands and will be a better mare for the outing. She is improving with every run and may be seen to better advantage in engagements at the Auckland meeting this month. A Solid Effort. Derby Fame put up a solid performance in the Novice Handicap on Saturday at Claudelands when he completely upset ■ popular calculations to win in decisive fashion. Always prominent in the running he was clear at the straight entrance and held on well in the final stages.

Edna Worthy Third. The Hamilton owned and trained Edna Worthy, who was in the money at the Canterbury Park meeting on Monday finished a good third to Recess and Grace McElwyn. As she should bo all the better for the race she may do better next time she is produced, which in all probability will bo at the Ashburton fixture on Saturday.

Began Badly. Bonny Azure was a hot favourite for the Novice Handicap at Claudelands on Saturday, but the three-year-old ruined her prospects completely when she skipped badly early in proceedings and lost considerable ground. In her second up she improved to run third in the KaipalU Handicap in which she was fourth fancy in the straightout betting. Rookella Pleases. Rockella sprang a surprise when he won the Ivaipaki Handicap on Saturday at Claudelands. Prior to Saturday the Hamilton pacer proved himself an unreliable proposition to follow as lie had a bad habit of breaking under pressure, but on this occasion when asked for a final effort lie kept down well and scored in fine style. He will win further for C. Moran.

Bingen Chief. Bingen Chief was at a false price when lie won the sprint event at Claudelands in his best style. Moving away much bettor than usual he was always travelling smoothly and drawing to the front, at the distance he finished on resolutely to win nicely at I lie end. He is in nice order for Epsom this month.

His performance on this occasion was his best this season and on the way he was finishing on he appeals as a good prospect for engagements at the approaching Epsom gathering. A Good Effort. Pronto Bingen won for the third time at the recent Addington meeting When he beat -the hot favourite in the Final Handicap. When Iraq ran up to him at the. distance it appeared that Pronto Bingen was beaten, but from then on Pronto Bingen always held the upper hand. It was a good effort to come from behind such a field and register 2.9 3-5. Form Well Revealed. Meadow King won the Newstead Handicap on Saturday in effortless fashion at the end, although he had only half-a-length to spare over Captain Bolt at the post. Half-way down the running Roe appeared to ease up on the favourite, who, when asked for a final effort, however, drew ■away again 'to hold the Petewah gelding safely over the final hit. Meadow King is a stylish trotter who should add further to his laurels before long. Edna Worthy. Edna Worthy was a nuisance to herself and everything near her, comments the New Zealand Referee on the Hamilton pacer’s performance at Addington recently. She was hanging in hadly all the way, and may have been responsible for Nobleman breaking at the end of a quarter and slopping Deity Wrack. The marc’s ■style of going came under the notiee of the judicial committee and it was decided to ask the New Zealand Trotting Conference to make inquiry regarding her boring tactics.

Hamilton and Glen Massey. The standard of play in these sections has improved considerably on that shown last year, and the opening games augur well for a good season. On No. i ground at Seddon Park ■Hamilton Wanderers intermediates played a hard game with Claudelands Rovers to gain the decision by one goal lo nil. For Wanderers Kernott, Gurncll and Magnall played well, while Rovers’ mainstays were Larsen, Worster and 1,. Mead. Pukemiro intermediates travelled to Glen Massey and played the home team lo a draw of two goals each. Glen Massey had the belter of the. contest, hut poor shooting spoiled their chances. Pukemiro’s best players were White, .Mitchell, Hutchinson (goal) and Jefferson, while for the home team Alker, Brocket!, J. Connow and R- Davies were outstanding.

Playing on No. '1 ground at Seddon Park Hamilton East School defeated Whiliora School by three goals to one in a game which gave neither team a great margin of play. East had good players in Mason (goal), Guinness and Giles. Whitiora’s ’keeper, Smith, showed up well, as also'did Williams.

Forest Lake School did not have a great deal of trouble in defeating Fairheld School by seven goals to nil on No. ,'i ground.
