ADMIRATION FOR OTHER PLAYER WANTS TO DIRECT HIM. Such is Charlie Chaplin’s admiration for Peter Lorre, who played the master -crook in “The Man Who Knew Too Much,” that he wants to direct him in a screen version of “The Good Soldier Schweyk," a Hungarian war comedy. Negotiations are already in hand. If they -reach a successful conclusion, the resultant production will represent the first occasion Charlie has directed another star since “The Woman of Paris.” Chaplin’s Own Picture. Talking of Charlie He announces that bis own new picture, now approaching completion, will have no ordinary dialogue, -but a commentator will provide a vocal accompaniment to 'the story.
