TEMPERANCE UNION.
HAMILTON BRANCH. The . monthly meeting of the W.C.T.U. was held in St. Paul’s 'Church parlour on Thursday, Mrs Jones presiding over a fair attendance. This being the 41st anniversary of the White Pibhon, the ofllcal organ of the W.C.T.'U., the president gave a comprehensive resume of the work of the paper since its inauguration in 1894, detailing its editors and the progress made.
At the close of the address, afternoon tea was served and the meeting closed with the benediction.
OTOROHANQA BRANCH. There was a good attendance at the monthly meeting of the Otorohanga branch of the Women’s Christian Temperance Union recently. During the afternoon community singing and flute solos were much enjoyed. Articles were read entitled “Sabbath Desecration,” and “The Water Waggon.” Afternoon tea followed 'the business proceedings.
