WIN FOR AMERICAN YACHT
ACCIDENT TO THE ENDEAVOUR.
A STEWARD DROWNED,
(Official Wireless.) (Received June 7, noon.) RUGBY, June 6. Mr T. O. M. Sopwith’s famous yacht, the Endeavour, was dismasted and the Astra had a steward washed overboard and drowned during a race for J class yachts at the Southend Regatta to-day, the first event in British waters in which the American yacht Yankee was competing. •The Endeavour was leading when the accident happened. She was taken in tow by a-' pleasure steamer off Mause lightship. The Yankee reached home ahead of the Valsheda, the only other 'Competitor, and was awarded the race.
