JUBILEE CELEBRATIONS.

DECORATION OF BUILDINGS. SCHEME AT POST OFFICE. Extensive decorations are being carried out to-day on the Chief Post Office and State Fire Insurance Buildings, as part of the Government scheme for celebrating the King’is Silver Jubilee. Arranged by officers of the Public Works Department, the deoorativa schemes ,f° r the two buildings ar« very effective, and when completed the buildings will present a colourful appearance with their array of flags and bunting. The long front of the Chief Post Office has been seleoted for the major display. Over the main entrance a large Crown will be set between two White Ensigns, while strings of flags will radiate from the main entrance to six large pylons at the edge of the footpath. Two big signs set at an angle along the front of the building will bear the message “ God Save the King,” and two large shields will be placed at the top of the building to complete tho scheme. On the State Fire Building a string of flags In code across the front will convey the loyal message, “ God Save the King.” Blue and gold bunting will extend from the roof to the verandah, and similar material will be draped along the front of the verandah.

The pylons to be used at the Post Office were made In Hamilton at tho Public Works depot. Approximately 300 flags will be used in the decorative scheme for the two buildings.
