THE AUCKLAND MARKET. FIRM TONE CONTINUES. AUCKLAND, Tuesday. (By Telegraph.—Special to Times.) Since the resumption after the holidays there has been only a fair market on 'Change- The lone tends to llrmness and at the moment this seems to be restricting sales. • In the banking section at this morning’s call New Zealand's had fresh business at the new high level of 51s, with more wanted at that figure. Reserves, 100, were linn with buyers at £0 12s Gd and sellers up to £0 15s, Gas shares likewise looked healthy with buyers at the last sale price, namely 28s, and sellers is higher. Breweries were Arm, New Zealands resting between sis and 555, while Woolworths (New Zealand) were easier front £lO 5s to £ll ss. Waihis were a fraction lower between 43s Gd to 43s 9d, and King Solomons rested between 4s lo 4s Gd. Government slocks were again In keen demand ami the only ■sellers were of the 1055 4 per cents, for which £ll2 was asked. The Noon Call. Few changes in values were recorded at the noon call when the chief feature was the rise in Kauri Timbers to 10s, compared with 18s 5d seven weeks ago. Wilson's Cement appeared lo attract interest ami closed between £1 15s and £t 15s 3d. Enquiries were made for Broken Hill South at £4. llocorded Sales.
