THE NEW JUDGE.
SWEARING-IN CEREMONY. HITCH AT HAMILTON. It was proposed that Mr E. If. Northcroft, of Auckland, judge-elecl of the Supreme Court, would be sworn in as a judge by Mr Justice Fair at Hamilton yesterday, but owing to unforseen circumstance's the ceremony could not take place. Mr Northcroft made a special -visit to Hamilton and left later hy the limited express for Wellington where he is expected to be sworn in to-day by the Chief Justice, Sir Michael Myers, with whom he will confer before returning to Auokland at fchG end of the week.
