LONDON QUOTATIONS. BUTTER MARKET FIRM. (By Telegraph.—Special to Times.) AUCKLAND, Friday. Mr L. McCartney has received the following cable from Messrs H. A. Lome and Co., Ltd., London, dated April 4: — New Zealand Butter, 77s to 78s; New Zealand Cheese, white, 455, coloured, 46s 6d to 475. The butter market is firm. Messrs A. S. Paterson and Co., Limited, have received the following cable, dated London, April 4: — The butter market is steady. New Zealand, 77s to 78s; Australian, 74s to 755. The Danish market is quiet, with buyers not active at 78s f.o.b. The cheese market is quiet, and buyers inactive. New Zealand, white, 455, coloured, 46s Gd.

RECOVERY IN PRICE. RISE FOR NEW ZEALAND. The London price for New Zealand butter has recovered, and a good demand is reported at 77s to 78s. The market is Arm, on account of American orders. TTic price represents a rise of from is lo 2s over (lie week, but the gain is not reflected to tlie same extent in other butters, as Australian is quoted at 74s lo 755, against 74s last week, while Danish is unchanged at 102 s. The cheese position is steady. Values are a shade lower at 45s Gd per owt for while and -47 s for coloured.
