RESCUES FROM DROWNING. TWICE. IN A FORTNIGHT. CAPTAIN HOLFORD’S GALLANTRY. United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright. SYDNEY, April 5. For the second time within a fortnight Captain Holi'ord 1 went to the rescue of a girl who had fallen into the water. The incident occurred at the National Park. Miss Ivie Price, secretary to Lady Hore-Ruthven, was crossing a creek when she slipped on a greasy log and fell, backwards. Captain Holford rushed to the rescue. x Miss Price was none the worse for her experience.
During the welcome ceremony to Lady Hore-Ruthven, at Sydney, on March 23, Miss Kathleen Thatcher a Girl Guide, fell into the water/ Another Guide, Miss Edna Bourke, dived to her assistance, followed by Captain J. Holford, A.D.C. to the Governor, who Jumped Into the water fully clother and brought both girls to land.
