MYSTERIOUS DEATHS.

bodies of women found. PROBABLY A SUICIDE PACT. United Press Assn. —Elec. Tel. Copvrlght LONDON, April 5. Mystery surrounds the deaths of Dora Fabian, aged 36, a German Doctor of Philosophy, who was divorced from her husband, a doctor in Berlin, and Matilda Wurm, 56, wife of the former People’s Commissar during the German revolution of 1918. The two women were found dead in a room on the top floor of a house In Bloomsbury, London. A bottle, believed to have contained poison, was near the bodies and a mass of correspondence in various languages was strewn over the floor. Frau Fabian formerly was secretary to a member of the Reichstag and to the Minister of Justice in Prussia. Miss Ellen Wilkinson, at one time a member of the House of Commons, describes Frau Fabian as one of the most brilliant brains, exiled from Germany as a result of the Nazi revolt. She was forced to flee after Herr Torgler’s arrest. Then she struggled hard to make a living in journalism. Frau Wurm also was a refugee. She too wrote and worked at dressmaking. Trying to Trace Gang.

A German resident in London states that the two women had been trying to trace the gang which was thought to have assisted in the kidnapping of the German journalist Berthold Jacob from Switzerland. Also they were inquiring regarding Hans Welsmann, the Nazi journalist who was arrested by the Swiss authorities. Other Germans state that the women were seeking the headquarters of a spy organisation established in London to watch German refugees. Lord Marley expresses the opinion that Frau Fabian feared Jacob would be tortured in prison in order to make him reveal .the names of his associates. The police believe it was a suicide pact, but the Swiss Public Prosecutor, who interviewed them last week in connection with tlie case of Jacob, says they were absolutely normal and lie does not think it was a case of suicide.
