MAGISTRATE’S BENCH
ALTERATIONS ANNOUNCED. COPING WITH PRESSURE. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) * WELLINGTON, Friday. The ■; Stipendiary Magistrate at Napier, Mr A. M. Mowlem, has retired from the Bench at Napier and his'place will be taken by Mr J. Miller, S.M., who will be replaced in the Wairarapa and Wellington by Mr H. P Lawry, S-M., of Christchurch. Mr E. C. Levvey, S.M., will go to Christchurch from Invercargill, and ■the new magistrate, iMt W. 11. Freeman, will go to to Invercargill. Mr J. 11. Luxford, S.M., who is at present relieving in the work of the Wellington Court, will return to Hamilton shortly, and Mr J. G. LHewitt, S.M., who is now at Napier, will be available at Wellington when Mr Miller goes to Napier.-. In giving the above information, Mr Dallard. the Under-Secretary of Justice, expressed appreciation of the ready manner in which magistrates in oilier districts, had made themselves available lo assist the department in coping with the extra work that fell on .Mr E. Page, S.M., and Mr W. F. Stilwcll, S.M., in Wellington, because of Hie absence of Mr J. S. Barton, S.M., in oilier special work.
