YOUNG MAN’S ORDEAL.
SUSTAINS BROKEN LEG.
TORMENTED RY HEAT. (By Telegrapn.— Press Association.) HASTINOS, Wednesday. Tormentor! by heal and thirst, and Ihe pain of a broken leg and dislocated shoulder, a young man, Mr Ronald Wahl, was forced to lie old in tlic open for 12 hours after being thrown against a tree from a runaway horse on Sunday.
The young man left for a ride early on Sunday morning, lie rode bareback and [ravelled toward the country al. the hack of Ids employers’ properly. When lie had gone some distance the horse hotted and made straight for a tree, beyond which was a sheer drop. The rider .jumped off, hut as he did so die horse swerved and threw him against the I roe wilh surh force that lie suffered a broken thigh and idisluealed shoulder. Mr Wahl was not missed, and il was not until evening that anxiety was fell for Ids safety. A seareli was instituted. The injured man was found al ten o'clock that night lying in a gully, where lie had crawled to try to reach soma shade.
