Mr. G. Lloyd, assistant county clerk of the Whangarei County Council, is in Hamilton.
General Sir Alexander Godley and Lady Godley arrived at Bluff from Melbourne hv the Muheno last evening. They intend to make a tour of New Zealand.
Mr E. L. Riddiford, president of the Wellington Racing Club, Is visiting Auckland.
Sir Stephen Morell and Lady Morell, of Melbourne, visited Hamilton yesterday and left this morning for Rotorua.
Mr F. w. Hare, headmaster of the Wliiliorn School, is recovering from an opera I ion in a private hospital in HnmiMon, and is reported to he progressing favourably.

Professor W. N. Benson, professor of Geology at Otago University, is returning to New Zealand by the Ormonde, which is due at Sydney on January 16.
