ON THE ROAD.
MOTORISTS IN HAMILTON. ' HALF-WAY HOUSE 'FOR TOURS. As a half-way house to many of the principal tourist resorts in the North island, Hamilton is again under the daily patronage of many motorists. Although .only a few have the intention of spending a -lengthy period in the town, each evening sees a dozen or more tents pitched on Hie motorists’ camp in Tisdall Street. The delightful surroundings, with the Waikato River close at hand, make the site ideal for a night’s camp. The tourists, however, consider that considerable improvements could be made to the cooking and washing equipment which one southern motorist described as very primitive. There arc no formalities in the ■Bohemian atmosphere of a motorists’., camp. 'Coloured shorts or slacks for the womenfolk; bathing suits, flannels and old jerseys for the men these Rre the characteristics that bespeak the tourist. The children wear as little as possible. The whole informal atmosphere speaks of ease and comfort.
